Website redesign for telecommunications giant, CHT's Multimedia on Demand (MOD) streaming service.

Summary

In this project, CHT approached Tenten to redesign the website for their Multimedia on Demand (MOD), which is a service allowing users to access various TV channels and programs through a broadband network. The project scope involved restructuring the information architecture, UI/UX design, and front-end development for a multi-screen experience to fully equip the website to provide great user experience.

A new information architecture

The TV guide, channel description, and show categories were revamped to allow users to get relevant show information in seconds. Each channel description features a full schedule of upcoming showtimes and programs. Users can easily switch between channels and view program schedules and a timetable that allows users to follow and track the programs they do not want to miss.

In channel description, a full channel spread out sheet was added and designed to show programs according to date, hour, and display the program list. This allows users to switch between programs within the same channel and view different schedules.

Mega menu design was employed to show a clear overview of category, provides a clear overview of all categories offered on MOD to help users more easily to find relevant content to watch, and solves the pain point of not finding shows users want to find.

Clarity, usability and delight

User experience (UX) and user interface (UI) were not only taken into account in user's information processing but also ways to be displayed on different mobile devices. Acknowledging several devices may be used interchangeably to use MOD, Tenten employed Responsive Web Design (RWD) to optimize the display on every device. As the result, the revamped website is accessible on all devices, meaning all the users can access content anytime, anywhere, on any device.
